Day trip Scheveningen

It is not without reason that Scheveningen is one of the largest tourist attractions in the Netherlands. After a day in Scheveningen you will understand why! You can reach the beach in 10 minutes by car, but parking can be difficult in summer. We therefore recommend that you rent a bicycle at the hotel and place it in the bicycle parking!

Beach

Scheveningen is the most famous beach in the Netherlands. You will find the beach of Scheveningen directly behind the bustling The Hague. You can walk, swim, sunbathe and surf here. The beach is 4.5 kilometers long and can be divided into four different areas: Zwarte pad, Noorderstrand, Zuiderstrand en Kijkduin.. Each area has its own charms.

Pier

The Pier has been completely renovated since 2015, previously the pier was owned by the family. It was sold at the end of 2014 after many investments, now it is full of bars, street food and terraces. Nice to taste here and there with a great view of the sea. You can also walk on the roof of the pier, from here you can see all of Scheveningen. For the daredevils, there are also attractions such as bungy jumping, zipline and the Ferris wheel! You can buy tickets for the Ferris wheel at the reception.

Boulevard

The wide boulevard in Scheveningen contains many tourist attractions, including the Kurhaus, the pier and Sea Life. It is a design by the well-known Spanish architect Manuel de Sola-Morales. You will discover more than just a beautiful road to walk on. For example, there are several museums and monuments.

Boardwalk

The shopping center on the boulevard is open 365 days a year and offers great shops and activities. For example, glow in the dark mini golf is a fun activity to get out of the sun. But you can also bowl here and there are arcades and many more attractions.

Zwarte Pad

Enjoy the sun, sea and beach at the many beach bars on the Zwarte Pad. In addition to the beautiful beach, many festivities are organized here. The Black Path is also the more luxurious part of the beach. Lying on a towel is actually not done. There are 12 beach bars where you can order a beach bed and a bottle of wine.
