Japanese Garden

The fragile, rare Japanese Garden can be found on Clingendael Estate for only 8 weeks a year. The special flowers and plants bloom only during certain weeks in spring and autumn. One example is the spectacular Japanese ornamental cherry blossom tree. The beautiful garden also features several Japanese elements, such as a bridge, water basin and lanterns.

Hortus Botanicus

Is the Japanese Garden not open? The Hortus Botanicus is open all year thanks to its tropical greenhouses. In addition to the botanical indoor garden, the Hortus also has outdoor gardens. Both indoors and outdoors you can discover beautiful flowers and plants that vary by season. Come and relax here!

Westbroekpark

Close to the beach of Scheveningen lies Westbroekpark. The large park has play meadows, ponds and waterways. Between June and October the beautiful rose garden blooms here: the Rosarium. There are also often fun events here!

Huijgenspark

Huijgenspark is located in the city centre of The Hague. As a result the park is surrounded by beautiful buildings, classic street lamps and there is playground equipment. The city park regularly hosts events.

Palace Garden

Would you like to feel like royalty for a while? Hidden between Noordeinde Palace, the Royal Stables and the Royal Archives lies the Palace Garden with flower lawns, ponds, old trees and a maze. In the summer, free yoga classes are even offered on Sundays!

Zuiderpark

Zuiderpark was opened in 1936 and is the Netherlands’ first people's park. You can walk, cycle, swim, barbecue and run here. A special place in the park is the viewpoint hill De Villierskopje, or the medieval duck decoy. Large events such as Parkpop, Milan Festival and concerts by Openluchttheater Zuiderpark are held here.

Clingendael Estate

Close to the hotel is the Clingendael Estate. The estate has beautiful nature, winding walking paths and play meadows. In addition, the Japanese Garden can be found here for 8 weeks a year.

De Horsten Estate

The Royal De Horsten Estate is a large nature and walking area on the edge of Wassenaar. It connects the estates Eikenhorst, Raaphorst and Ter Horst with each other. From 2003 to 2019 King Willem-Alexander lived with his family in Villa Eikenhorst on the estate.

Ockenburgh Estate

Ockenburgh Estate is over 350 years old and located in the dunes near Kijkduin beach. On the estate you can find Villa Ockenburgh, a classic white villa in landscape style. There is also the 'hyacinth forest', where wild hyacinths bloom in April. For the kids there's the 'Gnome Trail', a walking route of about 1 km where gnome scenes can be discovered.
